CalEstimator provides estimation tools to help you explore scenarios. Our default approach is privacy-first: most calculators work without creating an account, and we only ask for personal information when it is needed to deliver something you requested (like emailing your results).
Information You Provide
If you choose to email yourself calculator results or reports, we collect the information you submit in that request. This can include your name, email address, and the calculator inputs and outputs needed to generate the email or PDF.
Our email requests may also include contextual fields such as the page you submitted from (sourcePath) and your browser information (userAgent) to help with debugging and abuse prevention.
You should only submit email addresses that you own or are authorized to use.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may receive basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, referrer, and the pages you visit. We also use Plausible Analytics to understand overall traffic patterns and improve the site.
Plausible is a privacy-focused analytics service. It helps us see which pages are used and how visitors find CalEstimator without using advertising cookies.
How We Use Information

Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. Plausible Analytics is designed to work without cookies, and our calculators do not require cookie-based tracking to function.

We share limited data with service providers that help us operate CalEstimator, such as hosting infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and database services. They are allowed to use that data only to provide services on our behalf.
Data Retention
We retain calculator email requests and related delivery logs for a limited period to support debugging, security monitoring, and abuse prevention. In most cases, this retention window is up to 30 days, but it may vary when longer retention is required for security or legal reasons.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we handle. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
- You can request deletion of name and email submissions by contacting us at info@calestimator.com.
- We do not send marketing emails. We only send the specific emails you request through the site.
- If you would like to opt out of analytics, you can use browser settings or privacy-focused tools that block analytics scripts.
Children’s Privacy
CalEstimator is not intended for children under 13.
